I can incorporate other personal values into my exercise routine by trying to use the time as efficient as I can.

I didn't realize I used this much plastic before I participated in this challenge. Great reminder to always keep in mind that small steps leads to great leaps.

The people’s ecochallenge has been great for my well being because it has forced me to reflect and think about my impact on the world and the world’s impact on me.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Spend Time Outside
Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

It was a great experience and truly cleared my head. I think a culture that emphasizes indoor times would become increasingly pessimistic.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Healthy Sleep
Consider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?

I would love to go to bed earlier so I can have more productive mornings. Putting away my technology and having a hot drink helps my sleep patterns.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Energy Calculate the Carbon Footprint of my Household
After you determined your carbon footprint, did you see what different choices you can make in order to reduce it?

Yes. Saw that I could purchase carbon offsets. Was a little underwhelmed by the calculator I found, as it did not allow us to calculate carbon footprint for total miles driven with our cars (which are quite low for us).
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Didn't achieve my sleep goal last night. Need to reduce stress level and get to bed earlier.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
Father Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?

I think rather than our primary purpose being celebration, I think it is gratitude. As I looked at the sunset, that's what I thought about. I was grateful that I got to experience life in that moment
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Whole Foods Diet
Michael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this assertion?
