Spent this day outside with my pup for his birthday and enjoying the time outside while it was not raining! :)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

I have been working to keep reusable bags in my car that way if I end up going somewhere that I have a bag

I find these challenges to be so rewarding/interesting because it does truly make me think about so many differently things that I normally would not think about and consider.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I was surprised to read about factors that influence the competitiveness of races.  It should have occurred to me that feeling like you don't have an impact on outcome discourages voting (I did start as a democrat voter in Alaska).  Gerrymandering/redistricting reform and limiting large donors/promoting small donors were two voter suppression topics that surprised me.

My ecochallenge has been going great! It feels great to contribute to and support my community, as well as carve out time for myself. My daily actions have benefitted both my mental and physical health, which is awesome! I have learned tons about various topics that have been insightful and have expanded my world views.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I was aiming to ride my bike to a volunteer event for a sustainable effort, but the weather is not cooperating!  (And riding in the pouring rain, leaving my bike locked up in the pouring rain, volunteering in the pouring rain, etc. doesn't float my boat.  Or maybe it does and that's the whole problem - I can't get anywhere form my house by boat!)
