Celina Almeida-Baia 10/27/2021 3:16 AMLast day of the eco-challenge has arrived, its been a great 22 days! My favorite part was writing down 3 things I'm grateful for everyday. Today I am grateful for the eco challenge, for the sources we have to make our world more environmental friendly and for the company I work for who inspires everyone to live with no ceiling and get outside. -
Celina Almeida-Baia 10/26/2021 3:41 AMWe are almost at the end of the eco challenge, I am grateful I was able to commit myself for these 22 days to help make our world a better place for you, for me and for our future. I am now singing the Michael Jackson song in my head as I type this. " Heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race" -

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Celina Almeida-Baia 10/21/2021 4:12 AMElectricity is generated from hydroelectricity where I live, supplied by Alectra Utilities. Natural gas releases carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide. Earth's atmosphere traps these gases, leading to air pollution and smog. Delivery of electricity can harm local wildlife. Birds may fly into power lines, resulting in electrocution.:-( -
Celina Almeida-Baia 10/20/2021 3:35 AMTurning off water while brushing teeth and taking shorter showers has been another way we have been saving water during the eco-challenge. Seeing my recent water bill was a big eye opener also lol! -
Celina Almeida-Baia 10/16/2021 5:37 AMEco challenge has definitely kept me motivated to get my daily walk in everyday. :) -
Celina Almeida-Baia 10/15/2021 3:24 AMMy why is I want to help make the world a better place for my kids future by making better choices . -
Celina Almeida-Baia 10/14/2021 3:25 AMI log in to my eco challenge first thing in the morning so that I don't forget to track my progress. The day gets busy and its easy to forget so I have made it a habit to log in first thing in the morning, so far its been working :-) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Celina Almeida-Baia 10/13/2021 3:46 AMWhen you create a consistent practice of gratitude, it will start to impact all areas of your life. Your body and mind will feel more healthy and vibrant. You’ll start to treat others with more consideration, appreciation, and kindness. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
Celina Almeida-Baia 10/13/2021 3:43 AMI normally carry things out in my hands (if i can) or in the cart then I will just bag everything when I get to my car because I keep my reusable bags in there but will sometimes forget to bring them in to the store with me.
