We were travelling this weekend but I was able to keep up my exercise and social media goal. This week I'll be back on track.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Limit Social Media
Social media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also take more time than we realize or intend to give. After doing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?

I just started using the limiting feature on my cell phone and it does help. I feel less stressed and I purposefully chose more happy hashtags to follow.....like funny dog pictures....haha!

In what ways can you increase the positive impacts and decrease the negative impacts of your financial investments?

Even as a small investor I want to decrease the negative impacts by divesting of fossil fuels and other companies related to fossil fuels-this may take more research as mutual funds and retirement funds can have a large list of companies that make up the fund. I have already purchased "socially responsible" funds in some of our accounts but I can increase the positive impacts by investing in new energy technologies, companies with sustainable practices and companies concerned with social justice.

I had heard the CSU was talking about it.....glad to hear they made the commitment! I was dismayed to learn that one of the stocks we have is part of the pipeline that the Native American tribes are fighting in the Midwest. That's the first to go!

Did you see that the CSU is moving out of investments in fossil fuels!
