WOW!  Totally understand why my water bill is so high!
Also shocked that my foot print is over 1000 gallons a day and houshold is close to 5000!  Need to be more concious and reduce my water use.... definetly should listen about not taking long showers.

    Simplicity De-Clutter My Home
How can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?

Rotating clothes or outdoor items has been a good way to act as a reminder on what I already have in the house. As we move into the fall/winter, I have taken out warmer clothes. This helps to remind me of items that I already have and may not use as much. If I didnt do this, I would likely forget about some of the things and buy something very similar to what I already have

Food Buy From a Farmers Market
What is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?

A few people that I grew up with have converted to a vegetarian diet or a diet that does not include gluten. Both options seem to be heavy in meals that are grown from the earth and have a very positive impact on the body and health
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Water Mulch the Base of Trees and Plants
Where are your nearest natural bodies of water? How might they be affected by runoff?

Its not the closest body to me but areas along Rock Creek park and the Potomac River are heavily affected by run-off and have areas along them where trash gets caught up and builds up in to large mounds of garbage. I have seen this a few times while completing field work at my old job
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

There is a trail along a creek within a half mile of my house. I enjoy getting on the trail over the weekends to walk my dog. The trail is between some busy roads but you would never know it based on how quiet it gets while on the trail. Its a good escape from all of the people that are usually out and about
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Simplicity Go for a Daily Walk Outside
Fresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

Each day when I finish working, I head out for a walk with my dog. The walk helps both myself and my dog get some exercise. Since we are working from home, the walk also helps me separate work from home. In the past the commute home would typically help with this.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

When working at home or the office it is easy to use a reusable water bottle. The challenge for me occurs when on the road for work/travel. Being able to use a reusable bottle isn't as easy to do as water fountains aren't as accessible or as sanitary
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

It affects the community by leading to worse health outcomes and quality of life. It also contributes to poverty due to spending money on healthcare as well as more expensive junk food.
