Tammy Coor 10/27/2021 7:53 AMI enjoy taking even 15 minutes to watch the sunset to reflect on my day and being thankful and grateful. -
Tammy Coor 10/25/2021 6:55 AM2 more days left to the challenge. Very excited to see the impacts we have made. -
Tammy Coor 10/22/2021 7:52 AMWell 5 more days. This has been such a fun challenge. It has been fun discussing with the team here what we have accomplished. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureFather Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?
Tammy Coor 10/20/2021 7:26 AMI love watching the sunset, I am always grateful I made it thru another day and reflect on the day I had. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureHow do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?
Tammy Coor 10/12/2021 11:59 AMI enjoy walking. I enjoy the sounds and the smells of what is around me.
Besides it is good for my joints and my heart. -
Tammy Coor 10/12/2021 7:25 AMI spent the weekend at Disney Land with my beautiful family. Several times I thought of the ecochallenge. I have become much more aware of my surroundings and our environment, the good & the bad.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Tammy Coor 10/07/2021 9:22 AMI tend to get stagnant indoors. I got up early this morning and watered my plants. What a great way to start the day. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Tammy Coor 10/06/2021 10:47 AMPracticing is the key word. I work on this daily. It is very easy for me to allow others with negative attitudes change my attitude. I am a better mood when I am centered and grateful, then I am better for others.-
Mari-Lynn Flaig 10/07/2021 3:01 AMWhen covid broke out, things changed for me. I feel like life is more precious, and truly prefer to spend the rest of what I have honoring others. You are absolutely right Tammy, practicing is key. I hope to be a better person and I'm very glad to read your post this morning. Thanks!

Tammy Coor 10/06/2021 7:13 AMHello All, I am so proud of the difference we are all going to make to our planet to ourselves and to our families.
I begin this challenge because I see Mother earth being destroyed and it hurts my heart, but how can 1 person make a difference. You can by what you are doing today. I do this for the love of the earth and generations to come. -
Tammy Coor 9/24/2021 10:18 AMOK. I reached out to a large grocery store in Texas (Initials) HEB...When I pick up curbside I get 1 or 2 items per plastic bag. Drives me crazy. I repacked the 16 bags into 5 bags. Such a waste. Hopefully my little voice will be heard.-
Tricia Jones 9/28/2021 6:31 AMMari-Lynn, the plastic bags get caught up in the recycling machinery and cause problems, plus they aren't substantial enough to go through normal recycling process. When you see recycle stations for these bags at the grocer - what they do is sanitize and reuse. Was in CO few weeks ago - plastic bags are banned - it just wasn't an issue! Wish that happened elsewhere! -
Mari-Lynn Flaig 9/26/2021 10:42 AMWe have a curbside recycling program here in Rochester Hills Michigan. Problem is, they do not accept those plastic grocery bags! I am so disappointed with that, I called the waste management vendor to see if they can change.
