  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Explore My Area
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?

    Marissa Redding's avatar
    Marissa Redding 10/27/2021 6:50 AM
When I spend time outdoors, it helps me to connect with nature and appreciate the beauties of it that I don't always see in my day to day routines.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Healing and Renewal Family Game Hour
How does being playful with others enrich your life?

    Marissa Redding 10/26/2021 1:02 PM
It allows me to relax and laugh with others. Being in college, its easy to get overwhelmed and stressed, so this activity was a very nice break.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Buy From a Farmers Market
What is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?

    Marissa Redding's avatar
    Marissa Redding 10/26/2021 1:01 PM
Buying eggs from local farmers to combat animal cruelty that can oftentimes be seen in larger farms.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

Thrift stores have more than enough options to find fun, funky, and unique clothing to express yourself!

Can't believe the Eco Challenge is almost over already. I was able to see how many more sustainable actions I was already doing before the challenge, as well as inspire myself to add more and more from last year.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Turn It Off
How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

    Marissa Redding's avatar
    Marissa Redding 10/26/2021 12:55 PM
The electricity generated at my college is affecting the environment in many ways. Unfortunately, the convenience of being able to live on a college campus causes large concentrations of energy use. The carbon output from our electronics alone harms the environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Conduct Virtual Meetings
How can you ensure that your virtual meetings honor your values and your company's culture?

    Marissa Redding's avatar
    Marissa Redding 10/25/2021 6:08 AM
I think the best way to ensure this is by making sure there is still time during the meetings to bond with one another and foster the teamwork environment that often exists naturally while working in person.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

    Marissa Redding's avatar
    Marissa Redding 10/25/2021 6:07 AM
I incorporate the Rs into my lifestyle by always using a reusable water bottle, refusing plastic straws when I go out to eat, repurposing containers I get from things like candles, and always trying to avoid the use of plastic containers when cooking.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Work From Home
It takes the average worker in the United States 26 minutes to travel to work. One way to fix long commutes would be to make cities more affordable. An even simpler option: promote the use of telework. How have you used technology to replace in-person meetings or work this year?

    Marissa Redding's avatar
    Marissa Redding 10/25/2021 6:05 AM
I have been working remotely at my internship this semester instead of traveling 20 minutes to the site and back every Tuesday and Thursday
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Switch to Cold Water
What do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?

    Marissa Redding's avatar
    Marissa Redding 10/25/2021 6:04 AM
I plan to put the money I am saving towards study abroad trip this Winter.
