  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Justice for the Whole Community Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
How does food sovereignty address the complex transition from localized food systems to modern global food systems?

How is it that we have global food systems, yet 30% of Americans are classified as food insecure? Mississippi has the highest rate of food insecurity and the highest rate of obesity. Our lack of healthy/nutritious food is a direct link to the obesity problems we have in the US.

I don't know that I have identified my top 3-5 yet, however some core values that I know are important to me include: clarity, competence, compassion, acceptance, meaning, loyalty, love, logic, honesty, family, purpose, responsibility, satisfaction, structure, tolerance, and trustworthy.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Justice for the Whole Community Research Voter Suppression
What are the ways in which voters are prohibited from or discouraged from voting in your region and/or state? What could be done to get rid of these barriers?

Since the 2020 election Idaho has submitted 6 new bills that are aimed at making it harder for people to cast their vote. Some things that they are proposing include: making the only acceptable ID a State ID, if there is a spelling error in a persons name on their registration their vote is not counted, making it so you can’t sign an affidavit saying it’s you in order to vote.

I had no idea that eating meat had such an effect on greenhouse gasses. Dairy and meat consumption by one person equals approximately 8 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions. I do pretty good at not eating meat daily but I eat dairy every day.

Winston Churchill said, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the COURAGE TO CONTINUE that counts.”
