REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole Community Donate to or Volunteer for Low-Income Solar InitiativesEquitable access, environmental justice and creating employment opportunities are just a few advantages of low-income solar programs. Can you think of other benefits that could come from initiatives like this? Which advantages of low-income solar do you find the most compelling?
Lisa Brenskelle 10/27/2021 4:30 PMFor the community solar project in Houston, what most impressed me is that is part of a larger effort to assist a long-marginalized and disenfranchised community in Houston - the solar farm is literally being built on top of a former landfill - which was sited in that location since it was near a poor community of color. The project overall seeks to right historic environmental injustice. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing and Renewal Core ValuesWhat are your top 3-5 core values? How did you narrow it down to those as being your core values?
Lisa Brenskelle 10/21/2021 6:44 PMSpecific core values for me depend on which test I am taking (some have lists of values, others are free-form), but my conclusion is that my life does align quite closely with my values. Over time, I have learned to pare away what does not really matter to me, in favor of only those things that really matter. I no longer spend time on those things that are not top priority. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Reduce Refined SugarBefore you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?
Lisa Brenskelle 10/13/2021 5:59 PMI'm not addicted to sugar, and rarely eat sweets (other than a high quality, i.e. mostly fruit, jam on my morning toast). But, my wonderful spouse saw cute frosted ghost cookies for Halloween and bought some for me. So, that put the kabosch on no sugar for a few days. -
Lisa Brenskelle 10/06/2021 6:26 PMI was really impressed with the large number of great options for ecochallenges. I've been participating in these challenges for years, and it only seems to get better and better.
