October 27 at 7:48 AMDidn't get around to watching a movie regarding food but it is on my list to do in the near future. Any recommendations?

October 26 at 12:26 PMOne of my biggest takeaways was that I use ziplock bags or baggies as a means to parse out larger bulk items I purchase (to avoid too much packaging). It's just moving the problem around. I need to invest in some reusable ziplock bags. I also am starting to use brown paper bags rather than plastic ones for my trash can liners.

October 14 at 2:34 PMI spent some time cleaning my home office and it's made the space feel better and I'm in a better mood to work!

October 14 at 1:32 PMI don't think I realized how many straws I used because I decided that I wouldn't buy diet coke for home but kept stopping at a drive through or a gas station to get one there - and I prefer fountain drinks. It was a lot of straws. Still trying to kick the habit!

October 14 at 11:33 AMThere are a lot of options out there, ranging in price and range. If you're only using it for trips around the city, there seems to be almost no downside except maybe initial cost. No oil changes, less maintenance etc.

October 13 at 2:38 PMI've been looking into how I could convert my investment portfolio and retirement account to be climate friendly for a couple of months now. Unfortunately, our work 401(k) accounts at work are locked to a few options, and I'd have to transfer out into a brokerage fund to get my retirement invested in a healthier way. I'm still considering that,...

October 13 at 2:20 PMI enjoy road trips (and hate flying) so this was a no-brainer for me. Driving down the 101 to San Francisco definitely wasn't as fast as flying, but it was much more enjoyable. I stopped at a bunch of places on the coast that I've wanted to go to for a while, and didn't miss the airport experience at all. On the way back, my friend's flight was...

October 13 at 2:09 PMLiving in a condo makes natural heating easier than I expected. Even during large temperature swings, the mass of the building keeps things from cooling off quickly, and the common area heaters keep the inside of the building warm. Last night, even though it got down into the 30s, I didn't need to turn on my heat pump.

October 13 at 1:49 PMGood planning makes impulses much less tempting. While road-tripping, I purposefully brought extra water and coffee brewed at home, or at my AirBNB, in my own bottles and thermos. I also brought snacks that I bought in bulk, in my own containers. That helped me avoid wanting to buy drinks or snacks along the way, which I didn't really need and...

October 13 at 1:41 PMIt's ridiculously easy to sign up for cleaner energy through our electricity provider (PGE). I was already signed up for clean energy, but decided to "buy" several blocks of wind energy as well. It took about 5 minutes, at most. That low barrier to entry ought to tip the scales for people who want to do more, but maybe haven't...
