It’s necessary for all life — hydration, hygiene, cooking, planting produce. We wouldn’t be able to survive without it

Because of the culture of consumerism we live in, we can order anything with the tap of a button. We don’t have to spend anytime researching what we’re buying, so we often overlook the impact the items we purchase have

I think it’s important that we continuously update our public transportation systems — by introducing more sustainable systems, you’d actually be increasing your ability to meet more peoples needs. Electric public transport would reduce costs and therefor decrease fares.

Again, I did this challenge with my property in Vegas. Droughts have always been common there, but especially these past couple years. Leading to low levels in the water sources. If it continues, it will be nearly impossible to supply Nevada and surrounding states with water

    Transportation Choose a Carbon Offset
A round-trip flight from New York City to Los Angeles emits just over 1.5 tons of CO2—per person. That’s a lot of carbon! What can you do to reduce the number of flights you take per year?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Water Insulate Water Pipes and Water Heater
How do you think climate change will affect your region’s water supply? Think about the effects of weather, storms, salinity, and sea level rise, among other changes. How can you find out more about climate change’s impact to your region's water?

Safe drinking water and water pollution are 2 water related issues that climate change will impact Chicago area's water supply. For example, nutrient pollution, the increase of nitrogen and phosphorus due to climate change, it is costly to treat, reduces access to safe drinking water and has detrimental downstream impacts to the ecosystems and food chain reliant on water... including humans.

    Transportation Advocate for Greener Vehicles
Reducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?

The 2 biggest motivators for me are reducing fuel costs (who doesn't want to save money!) and becoming energy independent. Not having to stop by gas stations to fuel up sounds great to me.
