October 27 at 8:02 PMHi, Fred! The Episcopal footprint calculator is called "Sustaining Earth, Our Island Home." The link is https://www.sustainislandhome.org/. I haven't studied it yet, but on first glance, one interesting feature is that congregations are encouraged to sign up teams and it's a way to measure collective impact as a faith community.

Obviously the climate crisis is because of our imbalance: that we are using more resources and polluting so much that the planet can't absorb our impact without severe consequences. The...

October 26 at 3:17 PMFertilizer and pesticide runoff are endangering the bodies of water on which we all depend to live. I think the "Green Revolution" of the second half of the 20th century made farmers in Africa and Asia heavily dependent on chemical inputs that cost them a lot of money. Traditional and new sustainable farming methods could make their...

October 26 at 3:14 PMI was shocked to learn how big my carbon footprint was before the pandemic because of air travel. This week I learned about a calculator developed by an Episcopal diocese which I will be sharing with Episcopalians I work with regionally and nationally.
