Nature
Make your workplace green(er)
Not only do indoor plants enhance the overall appearance of a space, but they've been shown to boost moods, increase creativity, reduce stress, and eliminate air pollutants—making for a healthier, happier you.

Do at Home
I will adjust my thermostat down 2 degrees from usual when I use the heat, and up 2 degrees when I use air conditioning.
Simplicity
Buy Used Clothes
Do at Home
I will spend 60 minutes learning about the perils of fast fashion and will buy my clothes at second-hand stores when I shop.
Simplicity
Needs Vs. Wants
Do at Home
I will adopt a "Needs Vs. Wants" approach and only buy things I need.
Community
Volunteer in My Community
Do at Home
I will volunteer 12 hour(s) in my community during the challenge.
Water
5-Minute Showers
Do at Home
I will save up to 6 gallons (23 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute showers.
Nature
Go for a Daily Walk
Do at Home
I will take a 20-minute walk outside each day.
Waste
Personal Waste Audit
Do at Home
I will collect all of my unrecyclable, non-compostable trash to raise my awareness of how much I send to the landfill.

Maren Tonnies 10/21/2021 3:24 AMOkay.. I have to be honest. Daily walks in this weather ... not so much fun. -
Maren Tonnies 10/19/2021 5:29 AMI think I am slowly getting used to the "slightly" lower temperature in my house. I did check my gas usage and it makes a HUGE difference. It really impressed me, normally when I kept the heating at 18 degrees at night, it already cost me 1.5 m3 of gas when I was waking up. The meter now said 0.33 m3... -
Maren Tonnies 10/08/2021 2:49 AMHm. I bought an (secondhand) electric heater to avoid a crazy high gas bill. As I have solar panels, I assume that this is better in general. I am just not sure if this is a "only buy what you need" situation.. What do you think?-
Anja van der Hulst 10/15/2021 6:37 AMI think it qualifies as what you need. You clearly want to avoid high gas bill and indeed solar power is better in general.. so win-win situation.
