REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodCanning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA or another trusted source. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?
Cindy Sheehy 10/27/2021 2:45 PMI made several loaves of zucchini bread while it was still in season and froze several. Now, I can have delicious, fresh bread all winter. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing and RenewalHow does being playful with others enrich your life?
Cindy Sheehy 10/27/2021 2:42 PMThe laughs and memories last much longer than the actual game. Also, who does not love bragging rights over your family members? -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyWhat do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?
Cindy Sheehy 10/27/2021 2:40 PMI plan to compare my energy bills from this year and last year. Any savings can be set aside for some summer-time fun!!! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteHow can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?
Cindy Sheehy 10/27/2021 2:35 PMI learned that it takes 2,700 liters of water to make the average cotton t-shirt and that's enough drinking water for one person for 900 days.
By simply using clothing longer or purchasing used clothing, each person can conserve soooooooooo much water. Ask yourself - do i really need that new shirt? -

Cindy Sheehy 10/27/2021 2:20 PMThis year's eco-challenge has been a great reminder on the small actions that can have a big impact.
I have been training myself to turn-off and/or unplug electrical equipment after use. This practice will create positive habits that will carry on well-after the eco-challenge is over. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureFather Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow do you practice self care?
Cindy Sheehy 10/06/2021 2:43 PMAnnual physicals might seem silly but they can save your life - literally! During my appt. last year, my doctor reminded me that I was late for my mammogram. I told her that I would schedule but was not in a big hurry. She had her nurse call me every week until I scheduled. This test uncovered breast cancer that was still treatable. Without my annual physical, I might have continued to procrastinate and been too late.
Just made my annual physical appointment!! -
Cindy Sheehy 10/06/2021 12:12 PMKicking off this year's Eco-Challenge and exited to see some new actions/goals. It's a great time to think about how our behaviors impact our communities and environment.
