Learning about and advocating for the health of the Fraser River

I commit to going to the Fraser River Discovery Centre in New Westminster BC Canada to learn more about the history and present health of the Fraser River. If this information is not there, I will spend at least one hour learning about these things: What relationships do the First Nations have with this river? What are the Indigenous ways of river management those of us who are non-Indigenous can learn from? How can I advocate for changes on how the river is managed federally, provincially and locally, based on Indigenous-led actions?

Listening to world chants that are spiritually focused - it's uplifting and inspiring, as well as good for the body and soul!

I'm so excited to be doing this challenge with MetroVan Unitarians, here in Vancouver BC. I did it for a couple of years when I was serving with the Comox Valley Unitarians, in partnership with the Comox United Church. Beacon Unitarians did it last year as a community, and this year we're so thrilled that other Unitarian Universalists are joining us from other lower mainland communities! Together, we get stronger and can learn more and do more - and have some fun!
