  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transportation Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle
Reducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?

    James Riddle's avatar
    James Riddle 10/26/2021 9:53 AM
My single biggest motivator for buying an EV really is reducing overall GHG emissions and promoting the rapid transition to a low carbon economy and community.

increase positive impacts by investing in activist funds, decrease negative impacts by investing in ESG funds.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Stay on the Ground
What was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?

    James Riddle's avatar
    James Riddle 10/25/2021 8:54 AM
my family thought critically about who really needed to travel and where. in doing so fewer of us needed air travel and we flew less distance.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Choose a Carbon Offset
A round-trip flight from New York City to Los Angeles emits just over 1.5 tons of CO2—per person. That’s a lot of carbon! What can you do to reduce the number of flights you take per year?

    James Riddle's avatar
    James Riddle 10/25/2021 8:53 AM
as much as virtual meetings are an awful substitute for in-person interaction, at least they save on air travel impacts.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Research Impact Investing
How might impact investing help you better live your values?

    James Riddle's avatar
    James Riddle 10/25/2021 8:51 AM
impact investing can drive change at levels i'd otherwise not have access to.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Forage for My Food
People are motivated to forage for many different reasons: as a source for food, a means of income, to connect with nature, to participate in cultural tradition, transmitting specific ecological knowledge, or as a means of stewarding local and native plant populations are just a few examples. What is your chief motivation for foraging?

    James Riddle's avatar
    James Riddle 10/25/2021 8:51 AM
foraging is both a fun and relaxing activity (you pretty much have to be outdoors), also foraging helps me feel like my modern city life is just a little bit less wasteful.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Buy From a Farmers Market
What is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?

    James Riddle's avatar
    James Riddle 10/25/2021 8:49 AM
