Adrienne Petrovic 10/27/2021 1:21 PMToday is the last day! It's been fun -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterWhere are your nearest natural bodies of water? How might they be affected by runoff?
Adrienne Petrovic 10/27/2021 1:20 PMThere are many bodies of water around Idaho. Most I am not familiar with, but Bear Lake. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteOur ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors, including market demand for recyclables. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?
Adrienne Petrovic 10/27/2021 9:05 AMThere is a place to recycle things like paper if you don't have the curbside bin. You can also recycle bottles which is harder than I expected to find. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteIn what neighborhoods or areas of your region are landfills or other waste sites located? Which communities are most affected by these locations?
Adrienne Petrovic 10/27/2021 9:04 AMThey are located in town. There is not one type of area it is located in. -
Adrienne Petrovic 10/26/2021 10:31 AMThe challenge is going well!! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteReducing your paper mail can reduce mental clutter as well as physical waste -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?
Adrienne Petrovic 10/25/2021 11:39 AMIt makes me feel so much better to have less clutter while helping the environment. My next step is to produce less and less waste. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterTrace the water that flows down the drain from your house to the largest body of water nearby. What is the route it takes?
-
Adrienne Petrovic 10/25/2021 11:34 AMJust a couple more days until the challenge ends! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNaturePeople are motivated to forage for many different reasons: as a source for food, a means of income, to connect with nature, to participate in cultural tradition, transmitting specific ecological knowledge, or as a means of stewarding local and native plant populations are just a few examples. What is your chief motivation for foraging?
Adrienne Petrovic 10/23/2021 5:46 PMI think it’s interesting to learn about the native plants and what’s growing. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthWho is most affected by environmental degradation and/or environmental irresponsiblity in your community? How are they affected?
Adrienne Petrovic 10/23/2021 5:45 PMI’d say most of us since it’s happening in our backyard. Places like Yellowstone and Grand Teton see numerous visitors everyday and although it’s great for the economy, it’s not so great for the environment. There has been an increase in trash, especially masks going into our wildlife lands which has been difficult to witness.
