It was good to check in with our Beacon Team at Teresa's Eco Challenge Chat at the after service coffee hour!  Shared some accomplishments and challenges.

I'd like to build in some "chats" for UCV folk next year, maybe a 5-minute add-on to some other Enviro team event, to keep the support going.

What a surprise to learn I "won the points" for our first week.  Have no idea how I did that so I went back to the neat little video about how to participate.  Missed that first time around as I was so eager to begin!  will have to view it again as it was packed with lots of details.  Fun to be part of this team effort to be actively engaged in eco challenges.  Thanks Teresa for taking on team captain!!

A number of years ago I had the opportunity to sail with friends to Haida Gawaii.  Our first stop on the Islands at Ninstints at the lower end of Anthony Island was an amazing experience for me.  The old poles still standing left me feeling awe struck and so appreciative of the Haida culture and willingness to share their heritage with the world.  Hard to put into words the overall impact it had on me but it was powerful.

I'll brag here about the garden path labyrinth at UCV. A couple of weeks ago a keen gardener who'd heard me natter on about it, walked it for the first time as it was part of a multi-gen event. She came up to me and said basically: I get it now.

Had a wonderful walk in Mundy Park (Coquitlam) on a sunny cool fall day.  Air was so fresh and the leaves are beginning to turn.  Beautiful!
