REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing and RenewalWhat's your favorite activity(ies) in which you experience joy while being active and moving?
Donna Meeds 10/26/2021 3:09 PMI love to do yard work. Whether it is weeding, raking, pruning, mowing the lawn, repairing something or building something. I grew up doing this work with my father and it is a special way to connect with him in my heart. -
Donna Meeds 10/21/2021 10:52 AMRecycling styrofoam, clam shells, plastic film, large boxes, electronics, and clothing/shoes today. This feels so good to know that non of this is going to end up in a landfill. There is nothing wasted, only changes in form. ;) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteOur ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors, including market demand for recyclables. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?
Donna Meeds 10/19/2021 3:28 PMWhile researching places to recycle items such as plastic film, clam shells, styrofoam, batteries, and light bulbs, I came across a company by the name of "Ridwell" that does it all and contributes to a variety non-profits at the same time. So far, with Ridwell's help, I have recycled a total of 15-20 bags of these materials during the EcoChallenge time period. It gives me such joy to know these 15-20 bags won't be going into a landfill.
