REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole CommunityEquitable access, environmental justice and creating employment opportunities are just a few advantages of low-income solar programs. Can you think of other benefits that could come from initiatives like this? Which advantages of low-income solar do you find the most compelling?
Anudeep Medam 10/27/2021 7:33 AMOne of the benefits is the reduction of load on the grid which enables to provide a safe, reliable and resilient power to consumers. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole CommunityWho is most affected by environmental degradation and/or environmental irresponsiblity in your community? How are they affected?
Anudeep Medam 10/27/2021 7:32 AMIt is the farmers who are affected the most. The produce is affected and due to change in the seasonal rains, they are affected throughout! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole CommunityWhat did you learn from the resources? What did you discover from the offset calculator?
Anudeep Medam 10/27/2021 7:31 AMBy just avoiding using the gas powered car to nearby stores reduces the carbon emissions. Should try to bike/walk as often as I can. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole CommunityWhat can lack of access to nutritious food affect a community? How can having access to nutritious food help a community become more resilient?
Anudeep Medam 10/27/2021 7:29 AMA healthy body leads to healthy mind,
Healthy mind leads to a healthy home,
Healthy home leads to healthy community,
Healthy society leads to healthy world. -
Anudeep Medam 10/27/2021 7:26 AMI'm vegetarian for the most part. Rarely eat meat (once in a month). Hard to be a vegan though. -
Anudeep Medam 10/27/2021 7:24 AMFinal day of the challenge! Good luck to everyone! Let's see where does INL stand in the overall ranking. -
Anudeep Medam 10/27/2021 7:23 AMLED bulbs work cheaper and better than the incandescent bulbs. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole CommunityWhat did you learn about racial injustice in the documentary(ies) you watched? How does what you learned connect to your understanding of sustainability?
Anudeep Medam 10/26/2021 9:07 AMThere are so many things a person does which is subtly racist. Some demean the others because of the race and only now people are realizing it is racist.
The California wildfires is a pretty good example. The native Americans used to start a controlled fire thereby avoiding large scale wildfires. This tradition was lost for a while and now research has shown the benefits of them. They might soon be implemented to reduce the wildfires in coming years. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole CommunityWhat are the ways in which voters are prohibited from or discouraged from voting in your region and/or state? What could be done to get rid of these barriers?
Anudeep Medam 10/26/2021 8:49 AMThe following response is not specific to US but India.
The bureaucracy is the biggest contributor in voter suppression. This has been largely overcome by making everything online such that no person is involved in decision making and the technology takes care of the hurdle.
