REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow do you deal with the physical and emotional stress of the big problems we face? How can you help others cope?
Pulkit Lall 10/25/2021 8:53 PMMost important is to discuss with your near and loved ones who you think you can trust. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow do you practice self care?
Pulkit Lall 10/25/2021 8:52 PM1. Live healthy, eat healthy foods (sometimes we can cheat and have Burgers or Pizza's :) ),
2. Exercise regularly (Not necessarily in gym but we can do at home also)
3. Practice good hygiene.
4. Try to do something that you enjoy everyday (this is most important) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing and RenewalWhat was it like to actively listen to someone? How did both people and the conversation(s) benefit from active listening?
Pulkit Lall 10/25/2021 8:47 PMActive listening has many benefits. It allows you to understand the point of view of another person and respond with empathy. It also allows you to ask questions to make sure you understand what is being said. Finally, it validates the speaker and makes them want to speak longer.
From Active Listening, we benefited from:
1. We need to be clear: Open-ended, clarifying, and probing questions are important active listening tools that encourage to do the work.
2. Dont assume that you understand the other person correctly, or that they know you’ve heard them. Mirror your partner's information and emotions by periodically paraphrasing key points.
3. Active listening requires an open mind. As a listener and a leader, be open to new ideas, new perspectives, and new possibilities when practicing active listening. Even when good listeners have strong views, they suspend judgment, hold any criticisms, and avoid interruptions like arguing or selling their point right away.
4. One goal of active listening and being an effective listener is to set a comfortable tone that gives your partner an opportunity to think and speak. Allow “wait time” before responding. Don’t cut partner's off, finish their sentences, or start formulating your answer before they’ve finished.
5. Share ideas. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterFixing leaky faucets is one of the tasks that we can easily put off until later. Good job on completing this action! How will you use the momentum from completing this action to increase your water efficiency in other ways?
Pulkit Lall 10/09/2021 10:49 AMWe re checking each and every taps and pipes to check for leaky faucets and replace or repair asap. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationIt takes the average worker in the United States 26 minutes to travel to work. One way to fix long commutes would be to make cities more affordable. An even simpler option: promote the use of telework. How have you used technology to replace in-person meetings or work this year?
Pulkit Lall 10/09/2021 10:48 AMDuring this pandemic year, we are working from home and it has been over a year that we still continue to do WFH. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodCanning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA or another trusted source. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?
Pulkit Lall 10/09/2021 10:46 AMRead article from Prepare Food for Health and Safety | Taking Charge of Your Health & Wellbeing (umn.edu) and found it useful for everyday food preparation.
Trying to implement as much as we can -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWhat is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?
Pulkit Lall 10/09/2021 10:43 AMTry fresh herbs and spices instead of salt and salt-based herbs. You’ll leave behind the sodium and add new flavor to your meals. If you can’t use fresh herbs, dried herbs and spices are great alternatives. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing and RenewalHow does being playful with others enrich your life?
Pulkit Lall 10/09/2021 10:40 AMOn a personal level, being playful helps manage stress, promote mental health, and boost creativity. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteReducing your paper mail can reduce mental clutter as well as physical waste -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?
Pulkit Lall 10/09/2021 10:37 AMHave opted to go paperless for all my Airtel connections and also for electricity.
It felt great by opting paperless as I remember, I used to just see amount, pay bill online and then throw paper.
It feels great to be digitized :) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyWhat do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?
