Gyan Deep 9/29/2021 9:58 PMFan is the simplest appliance present in almost every households. In tropical country like India that's the minimum people can afford to relieve them from summer. With global warming increasing the average temperature overall, winter season is getting shorter and more summer and rainfall/autumn seasons are becoming more prominent. In a common household like mine, a fan keeps on running for approx 18 hours in each individual room. The normal fans available in the market(ceiling fan, stand fan and side wall mounted fan) consume around 55-100 watts/hour (in max setting )of electricity. While a typical bldc based fan consumes electricity around 28-35 watts/hour. That's almost like 40-50 percent electricity reduction.
Normal fan -> 200(days)*18(hours/day)*60(watts)/1000(kwh) = 216 units of electricity
Bldc fan -> 200(days)*18(hours/day)*30(watts)/1000(kwh) = 108 units of electricity
While base variant of normal fan starts from 1000 rupees(14 dollars), a basic bldc fan cost around 2000 rupees(28 dollars). Just a 14 dollar increase saves you almost 50 % percent electricity while also the bldc fans are proved to be more robust/reliable and it's value or cost is constantly increasing because it contains permanent magnet made from rare earth elements. (I cannot think of an electronic item which increases in value or remains constant with years)
So please change your fans :P)
