Constructive communication allow all of us to work on problems while maintaining respect for each other. This way of communicating leads to better problem solving, all while maintaining those important relationships. It's also an attempt to understand the perspective of others and be more open-minded.

    Water
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

I use a lot of coffee cups. Before Covid, I used to try and bring my own reusable cup but with the pandemic they stopped the use of personal cups. I could start making coffee at home which would decrease the use of plastic cups. I also have reusable grocery bags that I need to get better about using. I usually forget them at home so I plan to put them in the car so I have them when I need them.

I do the same when I go to the office now a days (kinda look like a hobo).
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
When you know who produces your food, you are connecting personally to your complex regional food system. What are the advantages of knowing who produces your food and where it comes from? How can knowing their food producers enable someone to advocate for a better quality of life for those who produce their food, both near and far?

If you know where your food comes from then you can learn what farming practices they use. You can research whether they use sustainable farming practices, use pesticides, etc. Also, when you shop from local farmers you support the local economy and cut down on carbon emissions from shipping.
