Today I am volunteering to bake a cake for a 5 year old girl for her birthday.  She is at the CHildren's Farm home and I hope it makes her day.

My walk was different today.  Instead of listening to music or a podcast or a book, I decided to just be and listen to nature.  Doing this is a kind of meditation to help sort out my thoughts, goals, reflections and things to do.  It is nice to be surrounded by majestic scenery and to be able to get "lost" in the walk.

One of the good things during pandemic is to hear the birds chirp in the mornings... which i missed earlier due to the morning rush ..

My meditation time started off with reflection on the previous day and what I wanted to accomplish by the end of the new day.  It ended with stretching and gratefulness for another day.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Justice for the Whole Community Learn About Trans, Femme, and Nonbinary Experiences
How is equality for trans, femme, and nonbinary people important to a just and sustainable society?

    Teresa Broadus's avatar
    Teresa Broadus 10/19/2021 2:05 AM
Equality for trans people is important to a just and sustainable society as they are contributors to society and as "equal" as anyone else on the planet.  Recently, I learned a close person to me is trans and the emotional battle that this person is going through is enough stress.  She needs to be respected and treated the same as anyone else.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Healing and Renewal Forgiveness
How has the process of forgiving, or contemplating forgiveness, benefited you?

    Teresa Broadus's avatar
    Teresa Broadus 10/19/2021 2:01 AM
Forgiveness is a freeing up of emotional space and allows me to move on to other things to think about!

Scientists have proven that forgiving someone put ones mind into a theta state.. so it is a win win
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?

I live in Hidden Springs where there is quite a lot of building and change happening each day.  Dry Creek and Cartright Ranch are subdivisions a stone's throw away and it is nice to walk in the neighborhood during the afternoon when people are out and about.  It gives me a great energy break and boost!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Healing and Renewal Nurture Self-Compassion
How can nurturing your Self-Compassion also nurture healthier relationships with others and the environment?

    Teresa Broadus's avatar
    Teresa Broadus 10/18/2021 1:18 PM
WHen you nurture your self-compassion it is more prevalent in one's life and like empathy -- thinking about what you want and needs translates easier to what others might want and need.

I live in the outskirts of Boise, Idaho, where we have miles of trails to hike in our back yard.  Several of the trails connect into the subdivision.  I started out behind my house, walked up to the water towers, found a few new hills and a new subdivision being built.  It's fun to just follow the path.
